Description

I'm keeping my telescope on globular clusters right now, trying to do them justice with more integration time, weather and short summer nights permitting.

A few observations after having spent much time on the two:

M12 is a class IX, so a very loose cluster, compared to intermediate M5 (class V).
M12 is also smaller than the M5 (which is the largest cluster in Northern Hemisphere).
The star field in M12 is richer as lays closer to the galactic equator.

I can tell already that I'll be revisiting some clusters i've done before with this new scope since globular cluster images are vastly superior from this setup. This is of course to be expected from the 500mm->1200mm jump in focal length .
